How to flash ClockworkMod Recovery for the Nexus 4
With ClockworkMod Recovery, you can use your Nexus 4 to its full potential. Installing this custom recovery will give you a chance to optimize your Nexus 4 experience. Though your Nexus 4 may revert to stock recovery after you’ve flashed CWM Recovery, a patch called Revert Recovery Disabler can prevent this process.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- LG Nexus 4 E960
- Download the following:
- Fastboot package (Fastboot.zip, 404.46 kB).
- ClockworkMod Recovery image (recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.9-mako.img, 7.6 MB).
- Revert Recovery Disabler (revert-recovery-disabler_signed.zip, 142.02 kB).
- Make sure your device’s battery still has at least 70% power. You don’t want the device to shut down in the middle of the procedure.
- Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.
Instructions
- Extract the Fastboot.zip file to your computer. You will get a folder named Fastboot.
- Place the recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.9-mako.img in the Fastboot folder.
